Westpark Business Campus Networking - Positive Response to the Company Soapbox
Westpark’s new approach to its regular networking event, incorporating a ‘Soapbox’ for campus companies to give a 5-minute overview of their business, received a very positive response from those who attended the Networking Event on Friday June 10th 2016.
DHL/EKAS bravely stepped up to the plate first, when Grace Ryan gave an engaging overview of what keeps the company’s 65 staff on their toes each day. She reported that EKAS, established in 2004 in response to customer demand, is a fee paid service offered to DHL corporate customers across a number of sectors including Life Sciences, Technology and Healthcare.
Next up was Gerard Murray who is relatively new to his role as Network Manager at ULearning/Skillnet, a fantastic resource that is literally on the doorstep of every Westpark company. Gerard relayed that ULearning/Skillnet offers bespoke accredited courses to SMEs and Multinational Companies from various sectors although mostly manufacturing, bio-pharmaceutical, medical devices and aviation.
Paul O’Brien, one of Westpark’s earliest clients gave an entertaining and very informative presentation on the world of risk management, focusing in particular on his company’s highly successful risk management software tool - CalQRisk - which is deployed in credit unions throughout Ireland, as well as insurance and other financial businesses both here in Ireland and in the UK.
Harriet Cotter of Enterprise Ireland made the final presentation, giving an overview of the impressive work done by Enterprise Ireland in supporting and promoting Ireland’s exports. Harriet has a number of responsibilities within Enterprise Ireland’s Mid-West Regional Office and nationally, but very importantly, Harriet is the champion for export businesses based in County Clare.
Thank you to all the speakers and attendees on Friday and we look forward to building on the ‘Company Soapbox’ momentum.
