New Motorway moves Galway City closer to Westpark Shannon
The new Gort to Tuam Motorway is great news for the West of Ireland and Westpark Shannon
The New Motorway moves Galway City and Sligo closer to Westpark Shannon – Ireland’s Premier International Business Campus!
The new M17/M18 Gort to Tuam motorway officially has officially opened, almost five months ahead of schedule. The 53 kilometre stretch of motorway, costing €550 million, is a critical piece of infrastructure. It will reduce journey times for traffic travelling along the West of Ireland, and the improved connectivity will make the West an even more compelling location for indigenous businesses and foreign direct investment.
It is particularly good news for Westpark Shannon. We are located next to the M18 motorway and are centred between the two university cities of Limerick and Galway (with Dublin just over 2 hours away). Limerick City is just 20 minutes away, and the new motorway will bring Galway City over 15 minutes closer to Westpark, reducing the travel time to approximately 50 minutes.
Westpark Shannon is home to some of the world’s best and brightest companies – global business giants, small businesses and start-ups with ambition. They choose Westpark because of our clear strategic location advantages, and the range of supports and services we offer.
Our improved positioning now, centred within the better-connected and strengtening Galway-Shannon-Limerick economic corridor, will only add to our appeal and help us to attract more world-class enterprises to Ireland’s Premier International Business Campus.
