Shannon Development“Shannon Free Zone is Ireland’s largest cluster of US investment companies and has a highly successful track record as a location for international companies who have invested in Europe”
One of the major attractions of the Westpark Shannon business campus is our custom designed Tier IV Regional Data Centre, which is the only one of its kind in Ireland outside the greater Dublin area.
The lower ground floor of each of our 7 landmark buildings has been specifically designated for lease by tenants for data centre purposes. These ‘Shell & Core’ facilities measure a total of 22,000 sq ft and are supported by a 10,000 sq ft plant yard adjacent boasting a 110 KVA power supply.
In our 3 completed buildings, Westpark currently has the capability to house up to 150 client co-location cabinets. Once all 7 buildings are complete in 2012 it is estimated that we will have the facility to house up to 400 client co-location cabinets as well as providing market-leading power density of up to 10 kilowatts per day.

Offering the highest levels of data centre security in Ireland, tenants can choose to manage data centre operations themselves or alternatively outsource this to the Data Centre Management team at Westpark.
It is estimated that Westpark's 110 Kilovolt sub-station will deliver an overall campus power envelope of up to 40 mega watts in the near future. This will allow for more than adequate expansion of a high power density data center footprint.
Combined with the local and regional access to national and international telecommunications infrastructure, a Data Centre at Westpark Shannon will successfully serve a wide catchment area including Shannon, Limerick, Galway, Cork, Dublin. Via long haul Tier 1 Networks a Data Centre at Westpark Shannon is an excellent strategic base for an international business continuity centre, disaster recover hub or IT multi-support centre.

A central part of Westpark's business strategy is to enable future-proofed, leading-edge telecommunications infrastructure, designed specifically to cater for the needs of Information Economy Businesses.
To this end, Westpark has invested extensively in an ICT programme that allows a multitude of both National and Long-Haul/Tier-1 Telecoms Carriers to connect their networks to the campus.
This initiative will create a wide platform of choices for Telecommunications and ICT Services as well as creating a secure, cost-effective back-up facility across the campus.
Westpark's ICT connectivity initiative means that it can not only rival similar services offered by other major telecommunications centres across Europe – but we can do so at a substantially lower cost.
