Where Business Thrives
buildingriversketch.jpg‘The Shannon Region is connected to a world-class infrastructure, to regional and global markets, and to a knowledge-based economy with advanced business processes.’

Westpark Shannon is a short drive from Limerick, one of the Republic of Ireland’s largest cities. It is located at the centre of Ireland’s Atlantic Mid West, with a population base of 500,000 people within the immediate catchment area.  For almost half a century, Shannon has been synonymous with innovation. It was at Shannon Airport that duty free shopping made its worldwide début. Another first came in the guise of the Shannon Free Zone, established beside the Airport in the early 1950’s, and Shannon has also been synonymous with the aviation industry from its very beginnings.  Westpark continues this tradition of innovation at Shannon, bringing it firmly into the 21st century.

As the fastest growing economy in Europe, Ireland is the ideal location for companies to centralise and buildingriversketch.jpgconnect to global locations. The Shannon Region is connected to a world-class infrastructure, to regional and global markets, and to a knowledge-based economy with advanced business processes.

Companies setting up base in the Shannon Region enjoy countless commercial and economic benefits.

A Great Quality Of Life.
attheraces.jpgAs a place to live and work, Ireland's Mid-West region has many strings to its bow.  It is a region full of character: with a high standard of living, an ever improving infrastructure, a much lauded natural beauty, a rich and exciting culture, a multitude of activities and attractions to enjoy.

The western half of the region boasts miles of breathtaking Atlantic coast, picturesque mountain-tops, serene lakes and expanses of natural forest, with world renowned tourist attractions like the Cliffs of Moher and the Blasket Islands.

The Midwest is famous for its championship golf courses, which include Ballybunion, Lahinch, Doonbeg, Adare Manor and Waterville. Limerick City is also home to the multi-purpose Sports Arena at the University of Limerick, which is one of the best of its kind in Europe. High-wave surfing and other aquatic activities are very popular on the Mid-West's Atlantic coast, while inland, the region's rivers, including the Shannon River, provide the angler with rich fishing. The region also has a number of quality racecourses, including Limerick, Tipperary, Galway and Listowel.

The Mid-West boasts a wide choice of dining and entertainment venues, with a great choice of bars, clubs and nightclubs catering for people of all ages, tastes and cultures. The musical events at Limerick's University Concert Hall, which is home to the Irish Chamber Orchestra, are an ever-popular attraction, as are the plays at the Belltable Theatre. There is also a wide range of galleries and museums, including the Flying Boat Museum at Foynes, to choose from.

The area is also well looked after in terms of shopping. All the major retail names are in the Midwest, with prominent names like Zara, Mango, B&Q, Brown Thomas and Debenhams lighting up the high streets. The region hosts a wide variety of annual festivals and events, which include The Rose of Tralee, Listowel Writers Week, the Foynes Irish Coffee Festival, the Galway Oyster Festival, the French Markets and Limerick’s Riverfest.
